In a beautiful corner of Panama, there is a place where you can have real contact with nature. This is Panama Rainforest Discovery Center, an ecotourism and environmental education project for Panama and the world.
Panama Rainforest Discovery Center is located 45 minutes from Panama City and was born thanks to the initiative of the Avifauna Foundation. Its purpose is to teach about the birds of the country, and of course, how to protect them. Also, it is located on Pipeline Road, considered one of the places where most birds are seen in the world.

The place has a fantastic space to admire the beauty of birds very closely in their habitat, as well as: blue cotinga and toucans. This is because it has a tall tower where you can climb through a spiral staircase, which is 174 steps.
The tower is approximately 40 meters high, from where you can appreciate a breathtaking, pleasant and silent view. To reach the tower it is necessary to travel around 200 meters. Being upstairs, there is a small terrace with places to sit; to enjoy the view and the tranquility. However, not everything can be seen from the tower, but also on the route of the place.
One of the most exciting and exciting moments is that you can see 14 different species of hummingbirds in their water drinkers. Other beautiful birds are also observed as jumpers, anthills, and trogons.
It also has a viewpoint on the lake ideal for appreciating waterfowl such as dives, snail eagles, plungers, and elegant herons. Of course, you can not only understand and enjoy the beautiful birds but other animals such as monkeys, coatis, and beautiful butterflies.

The foundation was formed by the passion of a group of people, between Panamanians and Americans who love birds and nature. Then, in 2000, they gave Life to Avifauna. Three years after its foundation, they managed to have what is now the Panama Rainforest Discovery Center, in a total of 20 hectares.
